A child who has not amazing adventures in fantasy, mixing science fiction, virtual heroes (TV, print, etc..)? Kenji, western and other children, all born at the beginning of the'60s, not the least, and have described all of the prophecies in the Book: alien invasion, the threat of deadly viruses, destructive robots. And they have even invented a symbol of recognition of the group that will save the Earth: a look at the center with a hand that shows up at the sky. Crescendo inevitably leave these games. Chi da bambino non ha fantasticato mirabolanti avventure, mischiando fantascienza, eroi virtuali (della TV, della carta stampata, ecc.)? Kenji, Occio e gli altri ragazzi, tutti nati ad inizio anni '60, non sono da meno, e hanno descritto tutto nel Libro delle profezie: invasione aliena, minaccia di virus mortali, robot distruttori. E hanno anche inventato un simbolo di riconoscimento del gruppo che salverà la Terra: un occhio con al centro una mano che indica l'alto, il cielo. Crescendo lasciano inevitabilmente questi giochi. Ma, a poco a poco, ciò che loro avevano immaginato nella fantasia di bambini, diventa realtà. Quelle minacce che si fanno reali, i virus sconosciuti che cominciano a mietere vittime. Una minaccia che sembra riguardare tutto il mondo.

Kenji, tra l'iniziale e comprensibile scetticismo dei vecchi amici, è il primo a credere che non sia una casualità. A poco a poco i fatti gli daranno ragione, ma il Partito dell'Amicizia ed il suo leader, l'Amico, un uomo mascherato della cui identità pochissimi sono a conoscenza, occupano già parecchi posti di potere. La lotta sarà quindi difficile e piena di ostacoli, e si protrarrà per molti anni tra i più svariati avvenimenti e colpi di scena, con miriadi di personaggi, tutti fondamentali e caratterizzati alla perfezione.
Caratteristica peculiare i perfetti e coerenti incastri della trama, innumerevoli flashback e una linea temporale mai fissa.
